Devon Katzenberger

Director/Teacher

After graduating with her Bachelor's in Individual and Family Development, Devon spent 8 years working in and managing child care programs. From managing programs serving 200 children, navigating partnerships with libraries and schools, to supporting families through remote learning, Devon has a passion for community and helping children succeed. She has seen that children want to be outside. When given the opportunity to be outside they thrive, challenging behaviors decrease while creativity and imaginative play soar. As a mom of two she enjoys a good cup of coffee, hiking, reading, and learning to play her ukulele.

Olivia Mekonnen

Director/Teacher

Olivia has a BA in Individual and Family Development and has worked with kids for over 12 years in a variety of capacities including teaching preschool and STEM classes in a traditional classroom setting. During Covid she began exploring alternative approaches to children's education and fell in love with the Forest School model. She believes that nature is one of the best teachers and in a slower, play based approach to early childhood education that respects and celebrates the natural learners that young kids inherently are. Olivia is a mother of three and loves spending time with her family at the beach and on the trails, preferably with a backpack full of Trader Joe's snacks.
